One of my real first experiences of travel was japan, a big leap from western europe. inevitably, i fell in love with the country. people, food, culture, those felt like predictable unknown but the ease of movement, of transportation, was a surprise. For me, it revealed the intersection of values and effort put by this society. And in this i became mesmerised with the shapes and tones of this socio/technological landscape. below is a triptych composed by three long exposures created during Shinkansen journeys.
